The Calling Card of Wesley Philen, Dan's gg-grandfather, 1814-1887.
The background is Dan and his sister, Linda
McElroy: This includes the names of Fitzhugh, Rumfelt, Ross, McElroy, Guerin, Lozano, Davila, and more. The McElroy line comes from N.C. and the Ross Line from Virginia. They moved to north central Tennessee about 1810 with the great migration that took place from 1810-1820. They settled in Dover, Stewart, Co. TN, on the Cumberland River.
The Kirk Journal is a transcription of the William R. Kirk Journal, written in 1866. It tells of the immigration of the Kirk family from County Antrim, N. Ireland, fo S.C., and subsequent settlement in Alabama. It gives the marriages, including the Walker line, and tells of the life and times in this rural area of Alabama in 1866. Very interesting reading.
